Miami Beach Follows Miami-Dade’s Example

One of the many major headlines this week is Miami-Dade County allowing restaurants to reopen for their doors for indoor dining customers, albeit with limitations in place such as operating at 50% capacity and with no live music or entertainment. Furthermore, tables will be restricted to a maximum of six people. The news arrives after the county mayor decided to prohibit indoor dining following the rise in coronavirus cases back in May and June. Cases have since declined.

Miami Beach is now following suit and will also be allowing indoor dining but there will be a few caveats. For one, restaurants will still be required to close for indoor dining while the city curfew is in effect from 10 pm to 6 am. However, kitchens will still be allowed to operate after 10 pm solely for drive-through or delivery orders. In other words, curbside pickup and takeout are still being prohibited during these hours.

Across Miami-Dade County, the 10 pm curfew will stick around at least until Labor Day weekend.
