Miami Beach May Soon Have a Rooftop Cinema

How does the sound of watching a movie on a giant rooftop screen sound? That’s the idea being proposed for Miami Beach’s Lincoln Road. The developer behind the project is thinking about using the extra parking spaces of the recently built garage to create an outdoor cinema experience provided it can get a permit for such a project.

The 1212 Lincoln Road developer has been brainstorming with Rooftop Cinema Club to create something akin to a dinner and movie experience. The company makes use of cutting-edge wireless headphones that allow the movie-going audience to immerse themselves in the experience without being distracted by what’s going on outside. The cinema experience also includes adjustable deckchairs capable of accommodating one or two people and there are even plans to provide blankets on those ultra-rare chilly South Florida evenings.

Each Rooftop Cinema Club includes a full bar plus food items plus customary cinema snacks like popcorn which is bottomless.

As for 1212 Lincoln Road’s implementation, it will consist of a single screen theater with a maximum of three showings every evening. Screenings would begin when night falls from 5 pm to midnight on weekdays and until 1:00 am on weekends.
